Cullen Whisenhunt

Revision, June 27

Night drops on this town
like dirt at a funeral:
a few fistfuls at first,
then shoveled in and
stamped down flat. But
weep not, for in the grave
like stillness, moth shadows
dance across wood slats
to the creak of porch swing
music while iced tea sweats
starshine on work-worn palms.
