Marguerite's Cat
"Marguerite's Cat," a short story by John Haskell, appeared in Ninth Letter volume 1, number 2, our Fall/Winter 2004 issue. This audio version is performed by Caroline Holmes as part of a collaborative project between Ninth Letter and the Department of Theatre at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign.
John Haskell is the author of the story collection I Am Not Jackson Pollock (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2003), and the novel American Purgatorio (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2005). In addition to Ninth Letter, other publications in which his work has appeared include Granta, The Paris Review, Conjunctions, and Ploughshares. He lives in Brooklyn.
